Divorce rates are higher than ever these days. With 10% of the population divorced, no wonder that couples are turning to whatever resources possible at the first sign of trouble.
They never dreamt on their wedding day, that the future would hold such a painful end to their relationship.
One of the biggest causes of divorce these days is a cheating spouse. Some affairs last days, weeks and even years before the other spouse finds out. In some cases the husband or wife is suspicious of and affair but is afraid to pursue their worries as they fear their suspicions will will turn out to be true. They feel it's easier to hide from the truth, hoping that it will just disappear. Chances are, if the other spouse IS having an affair, it is unlikely it will just "go away" Of course there is the possibility that the current affair will end, but if the issues that led to the initial infidelity are not solved then it will likely just lead to another.

10 Signs that Your Spouse May be Cheating
Here is a list I have formed from my research on this topic. Bear in mind that someone who is cheating could display all or none of these characteristics. Also, just because one or more of these behaviours are present, doesn't necessarily mean your spouse is cheating. These are just common factors that have been found present in most cases of infidelity:
- There is less intimacy/sex/affection in the relationship.
- Your spouse works longer/extra hours on a regular basis.
- Unknown numbers found on a cell/home phone.
- Your spouse seems withdrawn/distracted.
- He/she seems more defensive/secretive.
- Unknown charges on the credit card/bank statements.
- They lose interest in family gatherings/events.
- He/she seems to be bored in general with their life. They start displaying behaviour that borders on the dangerous/risk taking side that is not the norm for them.
- There seems to be more arguments over money between you.
- He/she is taking more care in their appearance.

5 Questions to Ask a Cheating Spouse
Can a marriage survive an infidelity? Certainly it can. Is it easy? No, of course not. That trust has been broken and it's going to take a long time to heal and build that trust up again. Here are 5 very important questions a spouse should ask their partner who has been unfaithful. The answers to these questions will help determine if the marriage can be salvaged or not.
- Is this an isolated event or a pattern?
- Is he or she genuinely sorry for what they have done or are they just sorry they got caught?
- Do they honestly realize how much pain they have caused you?
- Do they take ownership of their behaviour or do they make excuses for it?
- Is this out of character for them or is it a common behaviour?
